Rotary Youth Competitions provide young people with exciting opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, showcase their talents, and achieve their full potential. Across Rotary District 1260, hundreds of students take part each year in a wide range of competitions and leadership programmes designed to encourage creativity, communication, teamwork, and personal development.

These competitions are supported by Rotary clubs throughout Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Hertfordshire, working in partnership with schools, colleges, teachers, parents, and community organisations.

A Competition for Everyone

Rotary offers a diverse range of opportunities for young people with different interests and abilities, including:

  • Youth Speaks,

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)

In addition to competitions, Rotary also runs the highly successful Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). This residential programme helps young people develop leadership skills, self-confidence, resilience, communication, and teamwork through a range of outdoor and practical challenges.

Many former participants describe RYLA as a life-changing experience that helped prepare them for university, employment, and future leadership roles.

Building Confidence and Opportunity

While winning is always exciting, Rotary believes the greatest benefit comes from taking part. Every competition is designed to help young people:

  • Develop confidence and self-belief

  • Learn new skills

  • Build friendships

  • Gain valuable experience

  • Receive recognition for their achievements

  • Prepare for future education and careers
